Illuminating the arches of the Market Building and creating a unique sensory light show for key moments in the year, the light installation celebrates the building's stunning historic architecture.
With over 1,000 lights across the building’s 36 arches through the Market Building’s North and South Halls, the light display is enchanting throughout the entire building, whether you are browsing the shops, dining or simply passing through. The brand new light installation started in partnership with iconic British designer and Covent Garden resident, Paul Smith, the first partner in a line up of many exciting illumination moments to come.
Illuminating the arches of the iconic Covent Garden landmark, the Market Building is going rainbow for Pride throughout the month of June. With over 1,000 lights on display, the internal light installation will showcase a colourful and immersive rainbow lightshow, daily from 7pm-11pm.
On Saturday 29th June, the exterior of the iconic building will be lit up in rainbow colours in celebration of London’s annual Pride parade.
The rainbow light installation alongside the ‘Flowering with Pride’ swing bench adorned with all the colours of the rainbow provides the perfect Pride photo opportunity.
For every social post using the #CoventGardenPride hashtag, Covent Garden will donate £1 to charity akt (The Albert Kenny Trust), a charity which supports LGBTQ+ young people aged 16-25 in the UK facing homelessness or living in a hostile environment.
